I dont like you .

I remember you moaning becuase i squeezed your hand ?

You then saying 'i bet that comes in handy having a good grip' on the open forum.

The suicidal bit on the girlfriend really? I have had a girlfrriend for 30 yrs,if she dumped me now,id be pissed off yes but suicidal really?

Thats the difference between me and you, when i said i had enough of the forum becuase a few cunits on here said i had done very well out of the NHS and what have you,i was told to man up by Lucan.

Yet a sniff of a mental illness, and its all fkn hugs and kisses and pm me babe!

You really are a thundercunit of epic proportions. You do realise that suicide is the leading cause of death amongst 20 to 49-year-old men in the UK (probably the leading demographic on this board)? I don't know, but I assume, that you are excluded from that group, so as with everything else, you couldn't give a sh1t as it doesn't affect you.

And furthermore, who are you to decide if someone is justified in feeling suicidal about the breakdown in a relationship. Just because you 'think' you would feel a certain way it doesn't mean that you are right to mock someone else. Men do all sorts of crazy sh1t in response to grief, loss and mental anguish as the stats referred to above bear out. Just for one moment stop and try walking in someone else's shoes.

Im not bionic you know ffs!

How can i cope with my on going hospital checkups, taking care of other people, and then worry about people who say they have this mental health issue or that mental health issue?

The smoke bomb was more a joke if you can remember,i give you Luke,he thought they were great, until that was the 'big chesses' said they didnt like them, then of course he didnt like them! As you know i thought it funny that you would worry about a smoke bomb when you hardly ever go to football .

I speak my mind,i dont bullsh1t anybody, what you see is what you get.

Im out before 7am this morn have two gardens today, one local the other bit of a trek.

Enjoy your day.

If there were working sprinklers inside the flats surely more people would be safe/able to survive? If there were sprinklers in the stairwells surely more people would've been able to escape?

You didn't say if. You said manslaughter charges should be brought against "Whoever supplied the offending materials, whoever cut costs by choosing those particular materials, whoever gave the go-ahead for people to live there after it failed fire safety tests. "

You are clearly stating that somebody gave the go ahead to live in the flats the Grenfell failed fire safety tests. That is a very serious accusation that has no evidence to support it.

You are being disingenuous and taking my words out of context/removing words to score points again.

You asked: "Who do you expect manslaughter charges to be brought against?"

I replied: "I'm not sure, there's probably several candidates."

I then gave a list of possible candidates off the top of my head. I was clearly NOT saying, "manslaughter charges should be brought against "Whoever supplied the offending materials, whoever cut costs by choosing those particular materials, whoever gave the go-ahead for people to live there after it failed fire safety tests. "

I also added in another post, "When and if they are proven."

I won't wait for your apology, because like the last time you blatantly lied about what I'd said, it won't be coming...

"the building didn't fail any of those previous routine safety checks"

"no one has claimed that it did. the enquiry will doubtless check."

So when you made the first statement you were making things up?

that's a bit pathetic.

just admit you misread the article and jumped to a completely unjustified conclusion. no one allowed people to live in the building after it failed a fire safety test and you claimed that someone did.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

Well said.

I think in this thread somewhere there's an interesting discussion to be had if any psychologists are amongst us, re 'empathy' - is the amount of it that we are born with or without, the total lot that we'll ever have, or does it increase/decrease according to our environment and life experiences? Is lack of it at least partly down to lack of imagination - the inability to imagine yourself into someone else's shoes? or unwillingness to do so? Seems to me that's at the crux of it.

arent you the chap who likes to bask in the sunlight if getting arrested at a football match?!

What we have on this thread is an uneven fight between a bunch of self righteous windbags and the village clown, the clown is entitled to his opinions and to call them disgusting is pathetic.

One thing I will say, the people of your generation( as this seems to be more millennial griping) who are buying a house, there are some tough as it is, are very likely not the types to spend hours posting left wing guff and whining on a football forum. But hey, a lot of you seem to also work in the public sector so you probably don't have much to do to fill your day.

Good argument.

The sprinklers wouldn't have got to a fridge fire mate.

The only thing a sprinkler system may have helped with is damping down the building, may have made the smoke less, and cooked the building down somewhat.

There is also the other side of the coin, that the first load of water being dumped on any fire would have caused steam. Which would have been very dangerous.

As it seems the fire spread using a chimney effect of the cladding then a sprinkler system would have been fairly useless against the fire.

The best time to get to a fire is when it just starts. In these tower blocks, the residents should be provided with basic fire fighting training, be provided with a fire blanket and a fire extinguisher for each apartment.

Fire extinguishers per apartment and in public areas = sensible.

Dry powder though; definitely not water.

And free training courses on how to use them...

i thought i might add a few points to this thread in case it gets pulled.
1 .benters said jeeza had no shame in not fawning to the queen.but called out other posters for fawning to others on this tread.the very thing he wanted to see from jeeza..

2. he replied he had p.ms.from posters but wouldnt reveal the content on here, but in the next sentence he does.
3. g.b. comes into the tread telling people off for bringing up benters health issues, but it was benters who brought it up .
4. i cant say i dislike benters as i have never met him,but i hate his old fashioned little englander views.
5 i am maybe 10 years older the him but like some others on here worked abroad and have different outlook on foreigners as his ilk call them.
in the 50s my poor mum suffered abuse from small minded people because she was(i hate these words) of mixed race. i use to to get called a curry eater at primary school.
that was long before curry was fashionable.

side note .in relation to hijacked bit about the tower.what i cant make out, is we know it the cladding that caused the spread of the fire. but the fire started inside,so it must have been a long time before it reached the cladding.so sprinklers if fitted would have had time to douse the fire

"that was long before curry was fashionable. "

Ha, I love this comment. I like the idea that curry being fashionable would have made the comments OK.

Good post though.

Funny you don't leave a single word out THIS TIME. Why did you leave them out before?!

Anyone reading that can clearly see I was giving examples of who the candidates might be. The bit you don't seem to be understanding (I think wilfully seeing as you deliberately omitted it last time) is I'm not sure, there's probably several candidates.

I then listed some possible candidates.

I did NOT say these are the people who should be charged with manslaughter as you said, LYING, in the thread before this.

I don't know when the fire safety tests were done, the article is unclear. The fact is the failure of the safety tests shows the building was unsafe, but people were living in it - and have DIED in it as a result. Someone is responsible for that, clearly.

You post your lies and then say "I'm out". Brilliant. The equivalent of throwing stones and running away. But to be expected of you, I guess. Not the first time you've done it.

What's pathetic is you've made two conflicting statements, and when I've pointed it out you've swerved it.

It failed safety tests. People were allowed to live in an unsafe building. Or did it just suddenly become unsafe overnight?

The police have said it has failed safety tests and are considering manslaughter charges. Do you disagree with the police?

Totally agree with your last bit.

Disagree that overall a sprinkler system wouldn't have benefitted the situation. Whether it would have put out the fire, or at least slowed it - people getting wet would surely have enhanced their survival chances.
