I am more than willing to do it though

I've been 5 times and managed to donate once. Kept getting turned away for what seemed increasingly silly reasons so eventually I gave up.

My grandpa managed over 100 I think, he'd still do it now if they'd let him.

They won't take it as I've usually been tattooed too often - think the last time I checked it was about 6months or so of a window. So by the time it comes around and I've passed that period I usually miss it.

Snr's some kind of donating machine, they've sent him little certificates before and once I think a letter telling him not to come as he'd been so often.

They're welcome to anything off me when I snuff it too, assuming there's anything worth salvaging.

I would love to do it but have a really sad phobia.

I'm fine with needles, OK seeing other people's blood and OK seeing my own but the really odd thing is I freak out at the thought of blood being drained out of my body.

I'm ashamed of this. The rest of my immediate family give blood. I have no idea why I'm like this.

Laziness. If they were here now with a needle i'd happily do it.

And yes, I know that reason is pathetic.

Truly impaired.

I've repeatedly tried to donate, but won't take my blood due to a heart condition and their fear of killing me in the process. Wouldn't be an issue at all but they see "Heat Condition" and panic.

Annoys me in a way as feels it's something people should do.

I have however signed up to donate bone marrow if a match is found

I'm ridiculously phobic about it. I do other things to help society, but this is one I just can't do.

Sorry. And thank you to everyone who does.

Same here, plus various diseases picked up travelling. I'm all quiet on that front now though so should probably look into it. Bad not to.

Ignore me, it's been a mind numbingly dull day. I could do with a beer.

I've donated 29 times.

It's cool when you receive a text a week or two later saying your blood has been used to help someone.

I've also registered for organ donation when I turn my toes up but Gawd help anyone that ends up with any of my bits!

They might have changed the rules recently so might be worth checking.

Plus, the beauty of giving blood in Norfolk is that you're likely to be a match for 100% of the population.

So lack of funding has prevented people from giving a free service to save people lives.
