How they work it out: the site ranks the top 1000 football clubs in England each season. The ranking is based on a points score given to each team, taking into account their performance over the course of the season as well as the league they play in. The ranking covers all English pyramid leagues from the Premier League, right down to the 11th tier of English football.

Town make it into 40th place.

But this would have much more credibility if there was more explanation. Presumably it gives marks/points for cup performance, that kind of thing?
