Well done... I used to stop all the time when I started, the sense of achievement when you don't stop is a nice little boost to show you're going in the right direction.

Good work that - you'll easily be able to chip various amounts of time off in subsequent runs.

I've done five 10ks I think, first was 63 mins ( lost around 5 mins stretching out on a hill as knee had basically gone ) now down to 48. I think 43 would be my peak if I ran more often / ate better!

Good effort. My first 10km was around an hour, then 56, then 52. I dream of breaking 50.

Managed to get my 5km best down to 23:49 last weekend having stated at close to 30.

I've done 26.43 for 5k, but in the last few weeks I've been concentrating on building up distance, rather than doing the 5k.

That said, I won't be doing 10k every time, so the next time I do 5k it'll feel really short.

I did the Friday 5 at Nowton last night. Which was 5 miles. Managed 44:16 went off a bit fast but low 8 minute miles is ok considering it's the furthest I've run in 4/5 years. Looking to get on a 10k asap.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

That's exactly what happens. 10k used to seem a big distance to me until I started doing half marathons, now it's just a lunchtime jog. I'm now in the midst of training for my first marathon and half marathons are starting to become the same

Yeah, I've noticed that.... when I first rolled off the couch, I was doing 2 miles and stopping to walk half-a-dozen times along the way - the first time I got round with no walking felt like a massive achievement.

I couldn't comprehend doing 5k, and to think of completing 10k I may as well have thought of riding to the moon and back on a unicorn... it simply wasn't going to happen.

Goes to show what sticking at it and running regularly (2-3 times a week) can do. Lost a stone in weight in to the bargainas well as feeling much better. I even look at my diary and wife's shifts and plan in when I'll be running in the coming weeks.

I did the Woodbridge 10k for 19 consecutive years between 1985 and 2003-the fastest I did it was 42.48.
I was 34 when I first did it and 52 the last time so I never really did it when I was likely to have been at my peak fitness.

Good effort that on the 5k!

All about stretching to improve I think.

Good stuff.

I like posts like this as it reminds me to go for a run that day.

Just had a look on my app and my first 10k after my nose op was 57:08. I've been running weekly since in the next 8 weeks but haven't done a 10k.

I will do one this morning and will hopefully beat 55 minutes. Back in my proper running days I used to do 10k in 44 minutes. When I was 14/15 that was though.

I'm 31 and really need to up it / get back into it properly.

Just recently moved to Sydney from Queensland - in Australia on a working holiday visa so now in work I really need to get into a running routine.

I'm the wrong side of 40. Bagged a 49:58 a couple of weeks ago having initially struggled to run more than 2-3km. My life is complete.

Good going!

I'm going (planning) to attempt my second 10k tonight after the first one on my original post.

Been doing 5 k / 4 miles a couple of times a week since I first did it, and got my best for 5k down to 26.36 and 4 miles in 35.21, so I'm aiming to try and do 10k in less than an hour again. Will let you know how I get on....
