Slowly but surely the mood is brightening up 21:04 - Jun 28 with 1541 views | The_Romford_Blue | Think back to when the season ticket prices were released and pretty much everyone on here was sending it letters of dissatisfaction at the sheer arrogance of those in charge. Now compare it to now. The little gestures the club are making along with the seemingly higher budget and it appears we have a slight bit more optimism for the coming months now. Something had to be done as the fanbase as a whole had turned. Not just against the manager or the owner, but against the entire system and the lack of hope. I'm not saying we will get top 6 or anything like that as there's still lots to be done but the news about Huws - a player we clearly needed and would have to pay for - is a good start. Well done town. Onwards and upwards.

There was some dissatisfaction from some people with some things but not the entire fanbase against everything.. Are you perhaps confusing it with The General Election?

Of course not the whole fan base but the days after the season ticket renewal prices was the most negative atmosphere on here I've ever seen and even people like me, genuinely over optimistic, were angry at Town for making a mug of some fans. It's a nicer time right now

But it seems that ME has finally come to understand that the Tyrone Mings signing was an aberration and that such success in the transfer market is a rarity, and should not become the basis for transfer policy. The club needed changes, and those changes cost money. Of course, there will be a budget, but it seems that the budget has increased. Today I feel much more optimistic about Town's chances than I did at close season.

Lack of investment by ME was a major issue, but fans were equally dissatisfied by the way we play too. Suddenly, spending some money on players doesn't mean instant success and we have a manager that traditionally is a long ball merchant.
