It was an accomplishment especially with European games to play too, but given the vast difference in wealth between Celtic and the rest of the league then anything less than a league/cup win and a couple of losses would be seen as a poor season.
A few tweets that were published in today's 'The Scotsman':
@meestah_sahmon: “Paul Gascoigne has appeared in Luxembourg with a fishing rod claiming to be a close friend of Rangers.”
@sked21: “Do we *really* need changes to Scottish football. The comedy it continues to provide us with knows no bounds.”
@OHenleyAlex: “A bit of context. Progrès 4th best team in Luxembourg. League of Ireland sides have played vs them 6 times in recent years and won all ties.”
@SartoMutiny: “Rangers out of Europe before Dundee United have finished their first pre season friendly, though. What a time to be alive.”
@Oldfirmfacts1: “Progres fans delighted to have been given a night off work to watch and play in tonight’s game.”
It must be the only League in the World where the winners are known before the season starts. It cannot be too much fun even being a Celtic supporter at the moment especially if they go out of Europe early.

No doubt but I would think most Celtic supporters would welcome it being made a little more difficult to win the League by somebody. I am sure they would rather that that somebody was Aberdeen or Hearts but I would imagine the Club as a whole would be pleased to be made to work a bit harder to win the League.

There’s not been a ball kicked in the Scottish Premiership yet, but we’re paying out on @celticfc to win the league: https://t.co/cbhP4g4gal
A 38 year old in December striker in Kenny Miller leading the line. Terrifying.
We laugh but we've just spent a million quid on a player not considered good enough to get into that team.... or take that near 40 year olds place in it!
I know that at some point Glasgow Rangers had won more club honours than any other club in the World but not sure if that still applies. As the original Glasgow Rangers ceased to exist about 3 years ago that also complicates things.
