Why on earth should we pay his wages? If he signs a contract at another club whilst still under contract at ITFC then we shouldn't pay him a penny. [Post edited 13 Jul 2017 9:44]

Portsmouth have got a fair bit of money to spend as still get the big crowds so hopefully it isn't anything too substantial - guess depends on length of deal he is signing there | |

Because that's not how it works in football sadly and happens all the time.
We are effectively forcing him out, telling him he needs to find another club. He can sit here and pick up his £10k a week, or move to Pompey and pick up probably half that.
Situations like this, we tend to pay off the player which is effectively in lieu of the wages he would have earned here. | | | |
