£1-£2 million to spend so which striker do you buy? 11:41 - Jul 20 with 8320 viewssuffolkpunchdrunk

So for one moment pretend you are MM. You have up to £2 million max to spend on a striker so who would you look to buy to complete our team for this season?

I'd give it to Zlatan, and tie him up to a 2 game contract for this season

I would have gone for Ollie Watkins from Exeter who's just joined Brentford. £1.8m, couple of decent seasons at this level (like Britt Assombalonga) and you'd be looking at £10m+ for him.

You would struggle to get Daryl Murphy for that sort of money these days.

Everyone on this forum is always wrong.

I would have signed Liam Boyce and/or Danny Ward but oh well.

Now it would be Jamie Walker from Hearts.

Josh Morris. Not technically a striker, but a real class act.

We should also be having a look at Matt Godden from Stevenage.

Morris would be the second player I'd have in a heartbeat but he's not going to make up for another striker.

We would still need another out and out striker or hope we can rotate Garner/Sears as lone striker with lots of midfield support. Don't see that being a good move.

Daryl Murphy

Based purely on the Youtube thing and a bit of reading up I think Matt Godden might be the man.

This elusive striker - I'm starting to think we need to take another Ward/ Webster style punt and give someone the opportunity us fans might not be totally sure about.

I'm inclined to agree. When you look and see Championship benchwarmers going for £3m. I think even this market is getting a bit rich.

Godden looks good, maybe a Sheff W reserve like Nuhiu or an unkown Prem ressy...

Paddy Madden from Scunthorpe - Has a little experience in the champ, 6ft, very athletic and clever off the ball, and has had a couple of 20 goal season in League 1 - That'd be my pick - also at 26/27 years old he is getting into that prime age for forwards

Yes but I've changed my mind already and would spend it on a two game loan of Luis Suarez

Samuel Armenteros.

Interesting shout, decent scoring record and looks a decent all-round front man (admittedly from YouTube). Think he'd actually be available for that fee?
