Going by the article, Garner may well have been the number 9 and chose differently. Wouldn't hang my hat on a big marquee no. 9 signing, although it would be a surprise if there wasn't 1 more striker coming in at some point. |
The guy we nearly signed from Wolves would have been a fairly 'marquee' signing, even if it was only on loan he is a £3m player.
Also, there is no way you could say to Garner, signed a s a frontline striker - "Sorry, you can't have the 9 shirt as we are trying to sign someone". New signings just get offered a choice of available numbers.
In short - this announcmenet and anything associated makes no change to our need for, and desire to bring in, a good striker |  |

No number for Ben Morris is unfortunate, Looks like he might not have caught Micks eye in pre season - I don't get too wound up about squad numbers, but having no #9 is just not right- wether it was garner's choice or not *shakes fist* let us hope this is fixed sooner rather than later as it's not very nice on the old OCD front. |  |
