Mings or Cresswell 01:10 - Jul 25 with 8235 views | Currie10 | Someone posted about Rhodes or Wickham the other day. So who did you prefer at LB for us? Cressy for me. Mings class on his day but when he was bad he was very bad. Cardiff away 14/15 3-1 loss springs to mind.

Mings or Cresswell on 08:27 - Jul 25 with 6554 views | tcblue | Cresswell left us a complete player. Mings - although I love the bloke - arrived as a raw athlete, made a truly startling improvement but was definitely still very raw when he left. And that's why I think there was such a big difference in fees, Mings had unknown potential, had he carried on improving even at half speed...well, sadly he didn't

Mings or Cresswell on 09:27 - Jul 25 with 6472 views | itfcjoe | Cresswell was very consistent, but Mings had more game breaking ability on his day. Think Mings could have been a better player had he stayed fit, and maybe had one more year at this level - but Cresswell's dependability gives him the edge for me

Mings or Cresswell on 10:08 - Jul 25 with 6404 views | FrimleyBlue | Cresswell all day long I never understood and still dont see what fans. Managers etc see in mings. Barely pass a ball accurately. Out of position alot and couldnt cross a ball. Thata my opinion. 8 mill was day light robbery.

Nor do I in relation to Tyrone I really do not. Massively overrated in a blue shirt.
Mings or Cresswell on 11:41 - Jul 25 with 6288 views | HarryWright | Definitely Cresswell, however he left once he was fully developed whereas Mings only had one full season so who knows where he could have been after 4? like Cressy.
Mings or Cresswell on 12:21 - Jul 25 with 6241 views | chicoazul | Cresswell was a bit more tidy. Mings was an absolute beast. Both played in the wrong position though, Cresswell should have played centre midfield and Mings centre back. Mings all day for me.

Mings or Cresswell on 13:55 - Jul 25 with 6187 views | Jimmy86 | Cresswell every day of the week and twice on Sunday's!! How we only sold him for 3.75 million was unbelievable. As others have said Mings was very raw and a great athlete, but he was often caught out of position, played far too within himself and also loved a good. 8 million was superb business for him, having had 1 full season in the championship. Cressy is twice the player Mings is

Mings was great at attacking, I still don't understand why people think he should limit his game by moving over.

To be fair, Jewell made some half decent signings. He just couldn't manage a football team.

I still firmly believe evans had a part in the jewell era You dont make cresswell signings when looking short term. You make bullard signings when looking short term. I do believe him when he says the target changed and that in effect changed his signings.

Mings or Cresswell on 18:04 - Jul 25 with 5961 views | judespiveyg | 100% Mings. While Cresswell is one of if not the best crossers in English football, Mings was a phenomenal attacker and was everything a modern fullback should be. Mings also helped Tabb look good as Tabb could cover while Mings bombed down the wing. Other than his crossing, Cresswell was not much better than Kenlock in my opinion.
| I survived Ipswich 0-0 Burton |

Mings or Cresswell on 18:06 - Jul 25 with 5957 views | clive_baker | Cresswell, absolute no brainier. Tidy on the ball, defensively, going forward, lovely left foot, set pieces, could pick a pass. Mings had a good season but as others have said, £8m was a good deal for us. He was more prone to an error and in that role consistency and reliability is vital. No good making marauding runs forward if you're going to play a slack pass such as those against the scum in the playoffs 2nd leg which was a real turning point in that match. Not fair to judge a player on one balls up but it wasnt an isolated incident.

Couldn't agree more. Mings was far too lax too much of the time. As you say, in the play offs that was a turning point that changed the game. That was what led to them breaking and Berra conceding the pen and red card. 11 v 11 we at least take that game to extra time, as we still equalised with 10 men

Cresswell no better than Kenlock?! MK can't defend yet, AC was very solid

Mings or Cresswell on 22:02 - Jul 25 with 5720 views | BackToRussia | Mings was our best attacking fullback since Hreidarrsson IMO. Pretty closely matched with Cresswell - Cresswell had more of an air of consistency but I don't actually think Mings got caught out any more than Cresswell did - he has so much pace to get himself out of problems. But difficult to compare given Mings only played circa 60 games for us.
