Does anyone buy a newspaper these days 09:06 - Jul 26 with 4685 viewsgtsb1966

I was just looking at a chart for daily newspaper figures. They have dropped dramatically over the last few years. I used to buy three a day many years ago but I only buy the i paper about once a week purely for the crossword. If this trend continues there'll be hardly any papers left in ten years time.

I used to buy the Sun and the EADT in the morning and the Evening Star in the Evening :).

Mainly for the football news. The footy news is a day late in the papers with the advent of t'internet so now I don't ever buy a paper. Only time I do is at work if I am going to lunch and want something to read.

It's a dying industry, has been for some time, which is why large mainstream press now charge a subscription base.

I wonder how much Archant will charge in years to come to read their quality journalism.

My Mrs still buys a paper as she prefers the feel. Same with books.

I buy the observer, because I read the guardian website all the time, so I don't mind paying something out to them. And, more importantly, we need some paper to line the rabbit hutch and the observer fits perfectly.

Its not the same is it. It's like the kindle/ book thing. I know a few people who have a kindle but much prefer the feel of a book. It's the same with newspapers for me.

I buy The Times 6 days a week. Much prefer reading it to doing so on-line. Can't be a-sed with Sunday papers though. There is far too much wasted paper in them.

We still have a newspaper delivered. Living in a small village with no shop I would have to get the car out to go and buy one.

I do like the feel of a newspaper and doing the crosswords. I also spend far too long watching a computer screen so it gives me a break from that.

Which is why it's vital people pay to read news online. They will miss it when it's not there — albeit in ways they might not comprehend.

I presume you realise The Evening Star is now just a daily paper and available in the morning (Ipswich Star). It is just more Ipswich than EADT Suffolk and a bit more trashy.

I only ever read a paper if I'm on a the train.
