I know you aren't overly concerned about facts but can you post one single example of a poster taking pre season seriously until we lost a game?
As for Garner, people were suggesting him as a signing for several seasons before he joined Rangers. Often people on here are posting about a player i've never even heard of but to claim people are only excited about Garner because of his pre season goals is just ridiculous. |

We're talking about value. If Garner scores anything close to 15 goals this season I would say it's decent value at £1m in today's market. Of course Assombalonga should score more, that's what an incremental £14m gets you.
It's like shopping for a car, Boro are perusing the sports cars at top prices and we're picking up a reliable ford that broadly does the same job to a lesser standard and spec. Doesn't mean we aren't getting good value though if the money is right. |  |

When I look at the crazy cash flying around for fairly mediocre players Garner for £1m is decent. It's so difficult to predict strikers because scoring is largely down to confidence which is self perpetuating.
Who'd have thought Murphy had a 20+ goal season in him. Who'd have thought Torres would fail at Chelsea. I'll hold my hands up and say I thought Ibrahimovic was going to be a show pony in the Prem. [Post edited 27 Jul 2017 13:02]
