Anyone else think there's more to it than the apparent injuries he has?

Since his breakthrough season and improved contract, he's had two full seasons making only a handful of appearances and mick doesn't seem to go into much detail about how he's getting on anymore, almost as if they've fallen out.

Think it's common knowledge that they're not best mates.

Mick clearly still rates him as he compliments his ability whenever he talks about him.

Seems to be some concern from MM about attitude though.

Maybe seeing the other youngsters coming through and making an impact will give Teddy a kick up the backside.

Mick always seems very dismissive "nowhere near" etc. which could be that his injury is bad enough to not be close to a return but that seems to be happening quite regularly.

My guess is that Mick is pragmatic and realises that Bish isn't going to come back and tear things up in the way we all hoped and that there is no reason to pin too much expectation on his return and if we get anything out of him this season it will be a bonus

There is nothing "apparent" about it. The injuries are real.

I hear he likes to let his hair down but who doesn't? I think he's genuinely unlucky with injury and fitness.

Best to let his hair down when he is on top of his game and has a bit of lee way, not when trying to come back from injury.

There has been that suggestion, based on some antics out on the town. Think it's an unfair stick to beat him with. What he needs to do is fight his way back into the team cos the world is at his feet if he gets more luck with his fitness and puts in the effort.

I don't disagree. But you know what I mean. He's young still. Very frustrating to keep getting niggles. Some may say his lifestyle contributes to that, but I think that's unfair supposition.

Yeah, I suspect I would have been a bit of a nob (bit more of a nob) with a taste of fame and fortune at a young age!!

The problem with joining a team like Town when you're young is that you probably make close friends in the town and surrounding areas. That combined with your minor celeb status and oodles of cash compared to most people your age mean that it's probably really difficult to not get a bad attitude (apparently Josh Carson, Chris Martin at Norwich were the same).

This is different to a Ryan Fraser etc who is loaned to an entirely new part of the country.

Teddy has the same friends around him that he always had, the problems in this case appear to be other youngsters connected to the club.

Chris Martin had a couple of well-known issues in the town of Beccles during his younger days, i will say no more than my Dad worked alongside his older brother, and i've met his Father, who is an interesting character.

Nydam and Downes breaking though to the first team squad should be a real wake up call for Bishop.
He has two options. 1) Knuckle down and work hard with the undisputed talent that he has. He might have to go out on loan to prove himself again, but if he does this he will be a big part of ITFC's future going forward...or 2) Continue to balance his life outside of football with his job...if he does this, he will go down the same path as the likes of Josh Carson who is probably paid a pittance of what he was paid at ITFC.

I think Nydam and Downes emergence will really act as a kick up the backside to Bish. He needs to knuckle down, as there is one hell of a player in there !

When you say 'common knowledge' you mean 'someone made this up and I'm now passing it on', right?

Teddy Bishop is far from unique.

The game is littered with talented youngsters who have gone off from the rails because of the fame and the financial rewards suddenly falling into their lap.

It's also often the "big fish in the little pond" syndrome which makes them leave track.

It's obvious. They are young and probably not the sharpest tools in the tool-box in any case.

It's fun being young with money.

Being a pro- footballer nowadays requires total 24/7 dedication.

Will Bishop's injuries make it harder for him to realise this?

He has to play catch up now. Can he work this out?

Can he work out that the mountain of failures in the game is higher than Everest and that failure it's self is a very sharp guillotine?

Is there any actual evidence of Bishop doing this or is this classic TWTd putting two and two together to get 957?

I think it's fairly common knowledge. I've heard of him partying with a few of the other younger lads on a regular basis. Heard these stories for the last couple of years now

Don't get them in a twist.

What evidence do you need?

Rumours abound. No smoke without fire and that.

Have you any evidence to the contrary?

Personally I am more concerned about Adeyemi's illness as I think there's more to it. A few other players have had the same virus but have recovered and they are playing and Mick had it and he seems ok now so why is Tom still no where near a return to training or playing an u23 game. At this rate sicknote bishop will be back playing before Adeyemi does. Just seems a bit odd to me!

Have been some really nasty viruses doing the rounds this summer. One of the SA cricketers ended up in hospital on a drip. If you get something like this bad, you could be a month or two getting over it. And then you need to get your fitness back to the level of an elite athlete.

Adeyemi was at the training ground today and looked well on the way to getting up and running. Just think they're keen not to rush him.

He's just been very unfortunate injury-wise. The latest one is a groin problem, went to see a specialist in, I think, Leicester last week.
