Experienced, ball-playing CB needed 11:21 - Aug 16 with 1295 viewsThatMuhrenCross

Mick most likely wants to bring in an experienced player to cover for the injuries we have at the back currently, but I do think it's also important that he recruits a proper, technically capable centre-back rather than reverting to type and bringing in a Christophe Berra-esque hoofballer. Whilst our current squat boast some good options when fully fit, someone who can be a leader on and off the pitch and encourage us to keep the ball on the ground would be perfect. Such as shame Ivan Campo isn't playing anymore!

Any suggestions on who this might be, given who is available?!

I think we should go for Matt Elliott or Tony Mowbray

So, to clarify, you think we should get an experienced CB who can pass?

They aren't very common you know, even in the premier league.

Maybe we should bid for this guy:

Also a complete nutter:

In October 2012, Bonucci and his wife and then five-month-old son were confronted by an armed robber who demanded the defender to hand over his watch. As the robber reached out to take the watch, Bonucci reportedly punched him and chased him down the street. The robber escaped with his accomplice on a motorbike.

I assume you'll be paying the 42m EUR?

Actually, an old-fashioned CB in the mould of Berra is exactly what I fear we will miss this season.
Someone who will win the vast majority of headers in our box, especially at set-pieces.

Our defense would have looked a lot more solid in these few games so far if the actual Christophe Berra had been in it.
It seemed obvious to me that whilst we were certainly not going to miss his footballing abilities we were going to miss his strength and defending.
As to who or what type of player is brought in the first priority has to be one that an defend if he also has footballing ability then great .
