the MP's around her saw the way in which the tide was turning as people rejected the poll tax.

Issues with the EU never really became full frontal until Lamont fcuked up badly

From a letter from Thatcher to Bill Cash MP in 1993: 'I understand it is being suggested in some quarters that I would have agreed to the Maastricht Treaty. May I make it clear that I would NOT have done so.'

John Major and Heseltine led the pro-EU march after that.

Conventional wisdom is the enemy of thought.

Never has there been a more disappointing outcome to a plane crash.

There is a great "Sliding Doors"-style movie in there somewhere.

What a despicable slimeball he is.

Socialist? The EU is one of the most capitalist systems on the planet. Hence the reason people like Tony Benn, Denis Skinner, Arthur Scargil, Michael Foot and Jeremy Corbyn have opposed it over the years.

The plan is to run it much like China. With all the corruption that comes with it

I remember them saying it was all 'scaremongering nonsense' and that an army would never happen. It's taken just over a year.

I'm amazed that people want power in the hands of as few people as possible. Thank god we're leaving.

During the referendum, those of us who were going to vote leave based on a return sovereignty to the UK were told that policy and legislation from the EU has been insignificant. Now the country has voted to leave the same people are saying that the EU laws are so entrenched in the UK that leaving is far too messy and difficult. It's either one or the other, but it cannot be both.
