I think its a step in the right direction because too many internationals lack context (either friendlies or qualifiers against teams of a much different standard). It is pretty complicated though !

Doesn't appear to address the problem at all. All they've done is squish all the qualifiers into one year, and rebadged the friendlies against the bigger nation. There will still be Germany v Gibraltar and Spain v San Marino etc

I think this is a positive thing:
It will add a competitive edge to friendlies
It addresses the not playing of friendlies to enhance your FIFA ranking situation (which Poland and Switzerland have done)
It will get the minnows to try to attack for once - they might get a taste for it, so hopefully games against them won't be so dull!
