What was quite funny regarding Brexit at the weekend 19:03 - Oct 16 with 1521 viewsgordon

Was Chris Grayling on the Andrew Marr show blithely announcing that 'no deal' Brexit wouldn't affect food costs because our farmers would simply grow more food to compensate for the possibility of higher costs to import food.

There have been no moves to put any policies into place to increase agricultural production in the UK, and no gov paper on whether increasing production significantly is even feasible, and no suggestion so far of how agri-environment schemes will change following Brexit. Lots of farmers are currently expecting significant labour shortages following Brexit (they've been told to recruit more British workers) which will inevitably lead to reduced production.

He's just copying Jeremy Rhyming-Slang who, when asked about decreasing numbers of overseas healthcare staff said 'well, we'll make more', ignoring the ever-increasing number of across-the-board vacancies.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
