They made an interesting point on the Graun football podcast about caretakers/assistant managers who become full time managers. Caretakers always know exactly what the team needs when they take over as they have seen how things have deteriorated under the last guy but after a while once they become full time they start to encounter new problems and often they cant understand or cope with them. Seems to be what has happened here.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

To be fair its not exactly Frank De Boer levels.

1 league win in 10 is sacking form really.

Seemed wildly out of his depth.

Also sounds exactly like Nigel Pearson which I found weird.

Was inevitable really. Surprised he's lasted this long ... actually, surprised they gave him the job on a permanent basis in the first place.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

That's how it appears although wasn't it claimed that Shakespeare was the brains behind their title win?
His sacking is no surprise.

Surprised he made it through the summer to be honest.

The only ridiculous thing is that he was given the job in the first place, in my ignorant opinion

That claim was probably made by Shakespeare!

I think Kevin Phillips who was coaching there actually said it but quite possibly Shakespeare believed it.

it could but it won't. Evans would have to care enough to do something that drastic.

Not so. In the modern, money laden PL, relegation is often a financial disaster. Ranieri seemed to be taking them down, so I understood why they sacked him. Shakespeare was the correct choice to steady the ship & keep them up. However, he didn't seem to me the right "long term" choice & they're right to panic early.

I'd credit the manager, with some kudos to his coaching staff.

Shakespeare has proved that the managers role isnt quite so easy.

As long as he keeps us clear of relegation trouble, I reckon Mick is doing OK as faR as Evans is concerned. Will be interesting what happens at the end of his contract, though.

probably about right; assuming we land in midtable nothingness at the end of the season, have to assume that will be it for Mick at ITFC.
