It's a great idea. 1% is tiny but 1% of Premier League wages will make a big difference. I'm sure lots of them are giving much more than that as well. Great to see.
OK but wouldn't it be better to give 1% directly to Medecins San Frontiers or to SOS Childrens Villages (who have donation routes already set up from FIFA and Spurs) rather than a middle man?
Fair play to Juan Mata; on 14:14 - Oct 20 by WeWereZombies

Maybe but imagine if every professional in the top two divisions gave that 1%, the difference would be huge!

Why would it be?
I think a trust that can choose how to distribute it makes more sense.
The Premier League alone would be £20m per season if every player contributed.
Thats such a significant sum. Giving it to a trust means they would be able to react and direct it where most needed at any given time.

Agreed. SpruceMoose Magnanimous Money Management and Tree Felling Services Ltd would be more than willing to help out.

"Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

I'm remembering Kanu and his Foundation which had a few question marks against it at one point, I think it's back on track now but established charities are more reliable at maximising the use of donations and guarding against fraud. The two I mention are regarded as the first in and last out in the face of war and terrorism.

Yep you're right. A tiny amount for the players but given the obscene sums they're on it can make a huge difference to the recipients.
