Why has it taken me almost 2 years (including running a marathon) to discover that if you swing your arms when running you not only go faster but you use less energy?!

Negative splits on the last 3 miles of tonight’s 5 mile run?!

Well done, i'll be running a 10k tomorrow, my first in a couple of years and no real preparation as my other half only decided to sign up last weekend! We always enter at least one event per month in Florida, normally 5k but our last 'twilight' 5k was cancelled due to lightening in the area so the 10k was the only run she could fit in with her work schedule. And its 80 miles away so on the road by 6am then to attempted to loosen up! Guess i'm hoping for around your time as my best has been 52 something.

I have the Bury half marathon next Sunday. Pumped for it and hoping to beat my time of 1:53 I set 5 years ago in my last half.
