but how close was the waghorn offside right on half time. Couldn't really tell from opposite corner but he seemed to time the run (and made it a diagonal one) - looked close

A clear yard or more offside so not really a problem. Loved the finish though.

Shame otherwise. Waghorn could have had a two or three yesterday with a bit more luck/better control of the pass. Which we needed because Didsy wasn't really at the races yesterday but still tried to do too much on his own.

Yes was clearly offside.

McGoldrick seemed to be trying too hard yesterday to make something work, got frustrated when it didn't and then kept trying to make up for it by trying more things that weren't really necessary. He has a habit of trying to chop onto his right foot to get an angle on goal when inside the box but often gets swallowed by 2 or 3 defenders and losses the ball when a simple pass was on in the first place.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Agreed. He has a fantastic ability to drag two or three defenders to him and free up space for others. But if he doesn't get the shot off or pass it successfully then the defenders have pretty much come out on top by smothering him.

We've now got the players in attack and supporting from midfield who he can link up with so no real reason any more to go it alone so much.
