Bart is a marginally above average Championship keeper, despite what his fanboys say.
Chambo, Smith and Knudsen show a huge amount of commitment, but lets face it, they are hardly gifted players.
Spence has been average, but he was terrible on Sunday.
Iorfa is an athlete not a footballer.
Kenlock can't defend, which is a problem for a defender.
Skuse, past it.
Waghorn and Garner, nothing more than adequate Championship forwards that will never be good enough to play at a higher level.
McGoldrick flatters to deceive and there is absolutely no end product to all of his "flair"
Sears, hopeless.
Celina (not ours), Nydam, Downes and Webster may come good, but they need some time. Although Webster isn't living up to his billing at present.

Seems a bit unfair on the front 3. They all have good goal records at this level & so far this season. Webster and Ward are good footballers but very up and down which is a worry for us considering they are 2 of the most expensive players we have bought in the last 5 years. But let's face it, the players get away with murder at Ipswich and any new manager would probably realise that the vast majority are hopeless and then what would happen?
He won't be getting any new ones.
They'd just get told to play in a different way, which would be impossible for them, because they are so utterly crap.
They currently play dull, average, agricultural football because that's all they are capable of.

It's a Mick McCarthy squad, of players that are good blokes and help have a good team spirit, but are limited footballers technically who will work their nuts off.
Pep Guardiola isn't going to come in and have us playing like Barcelona, it would take a while to sort the squad out to do that (3-4 windows). Because of our clubs structure, i.e. no Director Of Football setting styles and employing those below to implement, we are going to be stuck like this for a while.

They have 14 goals between them after 1/4 of the season (in turkey shoots against rubbish teams, I know I know). Our forward line is one of the few decent things about this club right now, dont rob me of my delusion. | |
