Sad to see poor Old MIck has yet to get even one vote. Sounds like the unanimous choice is Burley, with Royle in second at the mo.

Didn't expect McParland and company to get more votes than MM though.

Well that's just people being moronic basically.

Like him or not, he's done a good job for the most part.

He's got a couple of votes now, which is good. For the most part he's done a good job with very little money. Keane and a number of other managers there certainly had more at their disposal.

May I suggest that you investigate the meaning of the word 'unanimous'.

Anyone not saying Burley is a lunatic.

to be fair if your asking the best in the last 20 then no one should get any votes other than Burley as he's quite clearly the best. Joe Royle was great but didn't achieve what Burley did, the votes for the other's are just trolls clearly.

1. Burley 2. Royle - very obviously.

On a rather alarming personal note re my memory - who the ell were Ian McParland and Chris Hutchings?!

I'm surprised Jewellout is that high in the overall ratings.

Probably the most one sided poll you'll ever see.

Burley was the best manager we had since Robson left, and we didn't know what we had until it was gone and even after he left Royle benefited greatly from Burleys players .. Counago, Rueser, Bent, Naylor, WIlnis, Magic, Westlake, Ambrose, Richards, J Wright and so on were players signed and developed under Burley and were the core of Royles back to back playoff teams.

Once the core of those players were sold or allowed to leave Royle didn't replace well let's be honest and thats why we fell off the radar.

George Burley is the best manager we had in the last 35 years. If you were to say who's the best manager we've had in the last 10 years, Mick wins, only because it's been a total shower of shte and at least Mick can grind out results and kept a consistent core of average players rather than changing hordes of old men, freebies and loanees every six months like the other two prcks before him had.

Everyone on this forum is always wrong.

We played quality football under Burley and got promoted.
They are the only criteria that matter.

If you want to extend it to the last 30 years it would be;
1 Burley
2 Lyall
...anyone else a distance behind.

Royle wanted Fuller in 05-06 and the board wouldn't stump up 150k.

Parkin + Forster looked a good replacement partnership at the time, Parkin was scoring for fun for Swindon for the past 3 seasons.
