Not up to speed 08:13 - Oct 31 with 4726 views | pennblue | But it seems there is a new manager about to come in for next season who is going to get us playing free flowing football and get us promoted on a 1 million investment, can someone tell me their name?

Not up to speed on 09:00 - Oct 31 with 4628 views | HarryWright | Why do some make out like there's no one better than Mccarthy? perhaps we'll get someone in next season and do worse or maybe we'll get someone in who improves us, either way we need to do something because it's no use standing still.

With McCarthy, it would only be a matter of time until we are relegated.

Well yes of course, but if you don't take the risk you won't move forward. I'd rather gamble at a chance of promotion than stay in the middle of the championship. Who knows, maybe Mccarthy can prove me wrong this year as points wise were doing ok, but were just not very good and are odds on for mid table.

Trouble is mid table may be about right for us based on investment perhaps. This is not a dig at ME either, he might be rich but not rich enough to risk losing £20m+ pa. I suggest. The game has changed a lot in the last few years, money being spent is so much higher. Finding a mega rich investor won't be easy. There are more clubs looking for one than investors out there. If we were to be relegated we could find ourselves staying down for a long time.

He's also got £60m plus invested in the club. Why would he gamble?

....£60m. And then flog it. Or reinvest and make £250m when we get in the Champions League. It's simple, dunno what the problem is.

That isn't remotely true and it isn't anything to do with being a 'Mick lover'. [Post edited 31 Oct 2017 11:46]

What is a "Mick lover"? I think he should have left in the summer — but don't allow that to scramble your brain.

SPOT ON . Many on this site appeared scared of change, which is utterly ridiculous. There are lots of younger more dynamic managers out there waiting for a chance at a club with a fantastic system of brigning young players through. We just have the wrong man at the moment. Great at shoring up a team on the slide, but no longer able to progress in the modern game, to coach poassing football or an attacking football philopsophy. No one expects us to Barcelona or even Spurs with the squad and budget but we can expect attacking football. Sheffield Utd for example are currently doing just that with young players and older journeymen. It can be done.

My brain is fine, thanks. The narrow minded brains that can’t see beyond Mick are the brains you should be concerned about. [Post edited 31 Oct 2017 12:37]

I can see past Mick, all the way to KeAne and Jewell, why should the next guy succeed ? The problem isn’t with Mick it’s with the underinvestment in the squad.
