And mick clearly likes what he sees as he doesnt want to try and change it. If hes here till may that really does show that ME has no real intention of taking us forward.

He has numerous excuses he can use for this game, just a question of how many he uses.

McCarthy rarely makes any substitutions until the 75th minute.

I don't think Mick necessary likes what he sees - he's probably just written off tonight's game and is keeping the likes of McGoldrick, Waghorn and Sears fit for Saturday.

I think he had prepared himself for a defeat at kick off.

Brilliant! Wish he told those who went tonight.

Why so many changes? Can't a lot of our players, play 2 games a week?

One of my biggest frustrations with MM is his inability to make changes when the chips are down in a game.

He'll let a team walk over us before even entertaining changes, whether it's personnel or tactically. He very rarely ever seems to make a sub before the 70th minute and he often doesn't give his flair players a run out until even later than that, if he even does at all.

This is ultimately why he is still a Championship manager rather than wilier operators like Pullis and Allardyce who employ similar philosophies.

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

To be fair tonight's line up did seem to have a better balance to it than the Burton XI. We had ANOTHER sloppy start (when did we last start a half well???) and conceded then worked our way back into the match.

The second was the killer and I think Mick wrote off the game at that point... as did the players by the looks of it.

Comes on. What do you want? We are trying to hold onto our 2-0 loss. That's a good result right? No point giving it a goal and maybe losing 3-0 but could get a goal and game on?

Joking aside, why hasn't he taken Skuse off? He has rested/changed 6 players. Surely Skuse is a starter Saturday so if we have "given up" why don't we give Skuse a bit of time off the pitch?

Suppose he won't attack so that helps us defend our 2-0 loss.

This line from the BBC sport site made I chuckle..

“Whenever there's a quiet spell in this game, all you can hear is Mick McCarthy bellowing into the Cardiff night like an old foghorn.”

They can play 13 games in a row, but a few of them need resting for the 14th game.

To be fair, most of them only turn up for 45 minutes.
