The first ever branch of Starbucks opened opposite Pike Place Market. It's still there. Looks like a small cosy independent coffee shop, but it isn't. Not joking, but thousands of visitors a day queue up outside just to order something & claim they've been there. Personally, I always thought it was time wasted when you could have been inside a pub...but there you go. [Post edited 3 Nov 2017 15:20]

Could I do it in an afternoon? It's just a flying visit for the deadskins and I have some friends in that part of the country. Capitol Hill best for partying?

Yep. You shouldn't have any issues. Make sure the weather is okay before you head there, because I've driven through that Snoqialmie area when it's been snowing viciously & visibility is BAAAAAAD. Yeah, Capitol Hill was always a bit too out of the way for me (I lived in West Seattle). I only really ventured up there for gigs. Preferred the abundant number of dive bars of Belltown & it's close proximity of centre city. Some nice pubs in Ballard & Georgetown, but again - a bit out of the way. Brace yourself for an expensive visit! [Post edited 3 Nov 2017 16:16]

I spend half the working week in New York so I am sure I can cope with Seattle pricing. Thanks for info BTW [Post edited 3 Nov 2017 18:40]

No problem. Also, don't be shocked with the huge homelessness problem you will encounter. It's pretty bad. That and the opioide addiction is very high in Seattle.
