Madness that playing a computer game is classed as engaging with football.

People ought to try finding tickets for some of the top league sporting events in the US. It cost me $130-140 a ticket to the NHL last weekend. That was the lower end - ones in prime spots were over $300 per ticket (and they don't have kids discounts). American football is similarly priced. IN comparison we're cheap.

It is quite a lot,and I've no problem with prices being capped/lowered. But inevitably the cost of travel/day out to follow a club is far more than the price of tickets.

Where was the NHL? When we went to see the Bruins a couple of years back tickets were $70 - still a lot but much less than that!

Of course, NHL (along with basketball and baseball) have a much longer regular season with games most nights, so the cost is undoubtedly expensive for the frequency of games. By comparison it’s less of a surspise that the NFL can be expensive with a 16 game regular season, although again it depends where you go (last time in the states we paid about $85 for Seahawks tickets but only $40 for 49ers)

You could of course also argue that at about 3-4 hours a game, US sports tickets should cost more than football

Also not sure why 'playing in a team' seemed to be the only reference to playing football.

What about those who have an informal kick about at school or at the local five a side pitch? Limiting it to 'playing in a team' must surely make the numbers playing football look smaller than they are.
