1-0 already to Peru. Let's hope they turn this around.

The amount of "gamesmanship" before this match beggars belief.

All over Peru for this.

C'mon Peru, you'll offer a lot more to the w.cup than NZ.

Farfan is a right player when on song.

2-0. Looks like we are unlikely to see any Ipswich players at the World Cup.

Shame, I know ITFC was rooting for NZ. It would have raised our profile substantially at the World Cup...which is good for the club as a whole. Smith and Patterson would have returned in jubilant spirits which would have been good in our push for the top 6. Plus, a win for New Zealand would have added nearly 100,000 euros to our transfer funds (due to the FIFA player compensation deal). Not a great day for our club...

been told I have got this figure wrong due to the fact that payments start two weeks before the kick off. So each player per squad is worth considerably more than 50K (especially as compensation has now been set at 6,500 a day). Need Phil to confirm how much Ipswich actually lost by New Zealand’s loss to Peru...but it is way over 100K. We basically lost 13K for every day New Zealand were in the competition and 13K X 14 prior to the competition. So...we lost 182K before even a ball was kicked.....

Ok...not the greatest source but got figures here;

It’s 170K per player...so we lost 340K.

170K could have made huge difference to Dorchester ((Rory Fallon), and to us. The profit margin from a good league cup draw is about 340K. Huge blow to Ipswich.
