I think the only team England could beat from pot 1 is Russia. So hopefully them.
Spain would beat us in pot 2. Uruguay are not the team they were so is winnable. Same with Colombia. Don't know much about Peru. That suggests we should beat them. The Swiss, Mexico and Croatia we can win but they could quite easily win themselves. 50/50 games.
Sweden would be a tough game and best if avoided. Denmark, Egypt and Iceland are potential banan skins. We should be beating Costa Rica, Tunisia, Senegal and Iran.
Pot 4 is full of sides that would sit back for a point and England should be beating. The only one I'd say could be tricky in a group stage game from that lot is Nigeria. They look a useful team this time around. I'd want the Aussies or Morocco if I had a choice.

Pot 2 looks pretty strong.. As does majority of Pot 3 for that matter.
There is going to be the "Group of Death" or whatever they label it as that will probably have the 'best' of the 2nd and 3rd pot.

You fear way too many sides. Not saying we're world beaters but we shouldn't fear anyone in pots 3 or 4. There are better sides like Denmark but we should be beating them. If we can't then we have no business in the knockout stages. | |
