Well, quite interesting if you ever fell in love with the Eurythmics music:

I read that earlier, it is interesting. I think that some of Stewart's and Lennox's later work has meant that the early Eurythmics stuff is overlooked somewhat.

However, from the list of nominees I'd go for Nina Simone, Chaka Khan, and Depeche Mode over them (but I am from Essex).

Saw them live at Wembley Arena in 1986 & they were excellent.

It was an interesting change of direction/ reaction against 'machine music', and also very productive but the sense of unease and dissonance and fear on some of the material on the first two albums would have got them a Pulitzer prize if it had been a work of fiction.

I'd go for Radiohead myself (but I am, a long time ago, from near to Woodbridge).

Very entertaining interview that. Hard to decide who I would vote for as I love Kate Bush, Depeche Mode, Radiohead and Eurythmics!

I saw them on that tour too (Revenge tour I think) and Clem Burke was drumming for them. It was really good.

It would have to be Kate Bush surely?

They weren't my favourite 80s synth band - if I had to choose one.

Human League
Being Boiled
Granada TV
1978

Much better

First album I bought with my own money was Be Yourself Tonight, still one of my favourite albums now, included three collaborations. Any geeks name them without cheating?

Cheating a bit in a thread about 80's bands to drop a tune from 1978!

Stevie Wonder and Aretha are the obvious ones. Pretty sure the Heartbreakers are on there. Is it Tom Petty?

I just cheated and had a look. I'm surprised I never got that as I have everything he's ever released.

Although I was close with Tom Petty as Beumont Tench played on the album.
