The Ashes on BT Sport 18:08 - Nov 21 with 21968 viewssparks

What a crock.

No way I can watch any of it without a BT Broadband subscription. Ridiculous. They are well on the way to destroying the support base, especially amongst younger people, for cricket, for short term financial gain.

At least when stuff is on Sky I can use the Now TV service and pay for the bits and pieces Im interested in as and when.

Do you reckon the day pass will finish at midnight just as the first ball is happening - or is it 24 hours. Actually I may as well get a week pass thinking about it.

Ignore me.

I think the day pass is actually 2 days, for some odd reason

The ECB destroyed the support base post-2005. Channel 4 provided a whole new fresh approach in production and commentary, the team played superbly (and had players with superstar appeal) the whole nation was behind them, and within a couple of years they sold out to sky.

But for you, and others, there may be another way...

As an EE mobile customer I received an email saying I could take 3 months free subscription to the BT app. Only usable on EE sim devices, but the law of averages suggests about a quarter of people on here could benefit from this.

Here's a link. Couldn't be simpler.

So, to summarise:

If you are a Virginmedia subscriber with a Sports package

OR

A BT cable customer

OR

An EE mobile customer

OR

If you are a Sky satellite subscriber who signs up for BT on Sky: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/get-bt-sport-on-sky

You'll be able to watch live. That's actually making it more accessible than in the Sky days.

Exactly. BT bought the Australian cricket rights in order to try to gain more subscribers to one or other of their services, not to pi$$ everyone off.

All it does is punish the customers though who now have to pay double for sports!

Well on Sky maybe, on Virgin it is included in the package

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

It's in with my XL tv package, I feel guilty as I have it but won't be watching hardly anything live being on through the night, so Sky/C5 etc haven't got any highlights at all?

No but BT Sport are putting a free highlights show on their website at 7pm after each days play so anyone can see the highlights.

I got into cricket by getting home from school and catching the last 2/3 hours on normal TV.... think it was Channel 5?

Bloody youngsters. Channel 5?

Repeat the same sentence, but substitute BBC1 (or 2).

Facters will be along in a moment with simply "BBC" on a black & white telly, or the wireless.
