Worrying times for scummers 21:52 - Nov 21 with 10056 viewstrueblue97

- 2nd biggest wage bill in championship history
- Yearly loss of 2.7M
- parachute payments up at the end of the season
- invested into ‘ webbers revolution ‘ which doesnt appear to be working too well
- bang average squad ( which is only going to get worse as they are likely to need to cash in come january)

The fact they're below us in the same league makes it even funnier

Assuming they finish somewhere around the middle of the table I can see them stripping that squad right back in the summer. Plenty of change for them, just wonder if their relatively inexperienced manager is bloke to do it. Can’t say I’ve seen much that would give me confidence if I was a scummer. Fast forward 12 months and I think they could be in a whole world of trouble.

I had a "Discussion" with a Nodger on Friday night. Bloke was completely p1ssed and in full denial.

He kept repeating "But we aren't in debt, you are"

I kept explaining that our debt is irrelevant as our owner has no real choice but to cover it and has to take it with him if he goes - but he wouldn't have it.

Now Someone posted some damning info on Norwich's finances t'other day, can anyone point me to it or offer a summary?

I think there's probably something on Swiss Ramble about their finances.

I would guess it would show that they were very heavily dependent on TV deal money, with that far outstripping match day revenue and other revenue streams.

Without the TV money, the only way of plugging the financial gap is player sales.

Expect more departures in January.

On three times our wagebill, and staring into a financial abyss at the end of the season.

Definitely time to laugh at them.

Slightly inaccurate, but still worrying times - last years accounts would have included parachute payments and the sales of Brady, Olsson and Redmond.

This year will include Howson & Murphy I believe - but from what I understand are set to make a £20m loss including parachute payments before any player sales (Howson & Murphy will equate to approx £16/£17m) - Not sure if much in player purchases (Hanley? maybe).

It is their last parachute payment this year - so very unlikely that they can renew any contracts coming up as will not want to maintain that level of wage bill.

That was one of the reasons Ruddy, Bassong, Bennett etc were released for free at end of last season.

The absolute melt that was bending my ear reckoned that young Gunn was already much better than his Dad and reckons he should be playing for England.

Even if that was correct (not convinced yet) - he is on loan from Man City, so also unlikely to be there next season.

He's only on loan anyway so big deal.

Norwich will need to reduce their income level to the same as ours for next season, if not a little lower.

Bearing in mind last season their wage bill was 3x what ours was that isn't going to be easy over the course of 12 months - and they have to do it or have a fire sale because they haven't got an Evans to stomach the loss for a year or two whilst it comes down any slower

That's what I kept telling the fool when he kept harping on about our debt. Our debt is sustainable - like Man Citys.

I think he was a bit simple.
