- 2nd biggest wage bill in championship history
- Yearly loss of 2.7M
- parachute payments up at the end of the season
- invested into ‘ webbers revolution ‘ which doesnt appear to be working too well
- bang average squad ( which is only going to get worse as they are likely to need to cash in come january)

So this guy actually belirves Gunn Snr would let his sn play for England. Rather than Snotland

Bearing in mind he was in the full England squad last week he's right

I'd be cautious, bear in mind they dropped to League One and then went on a rampage, just because they might end up skint, doesn't mean they will tread water like we have for successive years with a safe pair of hands in charge.

If they go into freefall and do a Pompey then I will have a wry smile.

The fact they're below us in the same league makes it even funnier

It's not funny, it's just the restoration of the natural order. They will always be the second club in East Anglia and deep down they know it.

Truly impaired.

I had a "Discussion" with a Nodger on Friday night. Bloke was completely p1ssed and in full denial.

He kept repeating "But we aren't in debt, you are"

I kept explaining that our debt is irrelevant as our owner has no real choice but to cover it and has to take it with him if he goes - but he wouldn't have it.

Now Someone posted some damning info on Norwich's finances t'other day, can anyone point me to it or offer a summary?

They really do seem obsessed with Town having debt and don't understand that it's not that relevant given that all but a couple of million is to ME and it'll almost certainly have to be be written off if and when he moves on.

As per the previous thread on their potentially upcoming financial problems, their local media don't seem to get what caused our administration. As things look at present, there are parallels emerging, which isn't to say the outcome will necessarily ultimately be the same.

I think there's probably something on Swiss Ramble about their finances.

I would guess it would show that they were very heavily dependent on TV deal money, with that far outstripping match day revenue and other revenue streams.

Without the TV money, the only way of plugging the financial gap is player sales.

Expect more departures in January.

Or investment, which our resident City insiders understand is something they're looking for. Some of their figures outlines here:

If they manage to find that investment I'll be annoyed - partly for it saving them and partly that Marcus isn't doing the same.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

Before you all get your gussets too frothy, aren't you forgetting the massive difference of us having no debt? You say yours Would simply be written off but what if your man can't / won't do that? It would surely eat into any future investment, unless you have a billionaire fanatic ready to step in.

We on the other hand haven't played the sell to a rich man card yet, so in theory are still a vastly more attractive investment, with recent experience of promotion to boot.

We baled out though, rather than sold. In such a case "beggars can't be choosers" may yet be on the menu for you if your financial decline is not arrested.

That's exactly as I see it. It's interesting that the Parachute payment, or the purpose of it, hasn't or wasn't used for it's purpose. They really relied on promotion and it hasn't happened. Early statement. But doesn't look likely.

They aren't in debt, and their annual losses are less than ours. But so they should be, they were still getting £50m in parachute payments last season.

The key stat is that their wage bill was £55m last season, ours was less than 30% of that (£16m).

Seems like a fair point, but for all we know, moves to sell up may already be underway. Delia's knocking on afterall.

I'm sure he'd rather have some of that money back though, so this would affect funds after the sale.

Given how hard plenty of Premier League clubs found it hard to sell up (Everton being one) I think anyone else trying to do the same will find similar experiences, especially Championship clubs who will eventually sell to some Ivorian despot who is on the run.

Suddenly Evans won't seem that a bad of an owner.

Yeah if everything stays as is next season in terms of owners and divisions, you'll be comparatively laughing

At the same time that's probably what's keeping him investing in the club.
