Root is not looking like one of the best batsmen in the world in this series.
I'm not sure being captain suits him. Smith's average has gone from 50 to 70+ since he's been captain but Root's will be dropping rapidly.

In the space of a few days of the first test and now this test it has shown that our batsmen are simply not good enough and our bowlers are not a patch on the Aussies. Difficult to know what we can do, but looking at how poorly we are playing and competing a 5-0 drubbing looks a formality. |  |
