To kick start - series predictions?

I am going Australia 2-3 England.

Lyon gets the edge off Malan but Smith drops it low to his right.

Was an absolute Jaffa from the off spinner

It's all about Root basically. 50 now up for him and needs to go big. Malan just needs to dig in, rotate the strike and just worry about crease occupation. Another 60 or so runs on this partnership will at least give Smith something to think about and may see a more defensive field.

Acrually. Would people prefer it if I didn't comment?

As good as Starc is he does bowl some filth.

We're setting this up for a classic Moeen, Gower-esque, 50 to win it for us.

Ha. Sixteen overs to get through today.

It still feels like there’s wickets in the air to me.

Trailing vapour since 1999.

Whilst Malan isn't scoring at a great lick he's looking confident & solid.

As I type he's just creamed some more Starc filth for 4 then inside edged the next ball for 4 more!

I know it's not as common as it used to be to enforce the follow on, and I'm sure the Aussie's aren't even thinking of breaking into a sweat just yet, but... do you think they'd have made England bat under lights last night if they'd had more than just 4 bowlers?

True, and they could have had an hour yesterday and then come back fresh today. Also worth noting that the Aussie pace bowlers have fairly length injury records so I suspect that is a consideration.

Even batting again, Australia should still have run up 250 easily and had two days to bowl England out.

Four more!

Four more!

Four more!

Suddenly the runs are starting to come for England. If we can get through these last overs on day 4, I really think we will win this.

The character and fight of our team after looking like being trounced in three and a half days early in this test is great to see

Funny isn't it. If Aus were chasing 200 more with 7 wickets left, I'd think that was a stroll on the park.

More DRS shenanigans then:

Will give the Aussies something to blub about on the off chance they do lose.

Reviews are becoming a whole new skill within the game - one which the Aussies are (so far) not very good at, happily!
