Phil - cheeky, but can you pin?? I know a fair few of us are interested in chatting about this as well as ITFC.

To kick start - series predictions?

I am going Australia 2-3 England.

I'll bid you all adieu.

Should be yeah. I've done Sydney but my timing was bad. We were already 4 down.

I'm not sure what one I'd do.

The MCG would be a goodun to do

If you start saving soonish, I'd advise doing Melbourne and Sydney. Boxing day test followed by new year test.

His side. 12th man came out with a tablet. Ball took over his end but Anderson stayed on the field (possibly because it's so close to lunch). Hopefully nothing serious but it does seem inevitable it will be.

Well, 'lucky' it was so close to lunch I suppose, but if it's his side, would they risk him bowling again at this stage of the innings?

Absolutely - the sheer coiled up spring of intensity that was Jimmy unleashing it was so well captured close-up by the camera - cheers for the you-know what! I'm actually appreciating that it's a minute or two behind TMS, as it allows me to make occasional forays to the loo/make cuppas etc & dash back to screen if anything happens!

No bother. Happy to help.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable test match. I'd say it's the most I've enjoyed a test match in a long long time

I personally wouldn't no. Hopefully we can knock these last three over quickly but already we've started pulling our lengths back. Irritates me when we do that.

yeah been there too, we'd lost basically by Adelaide anyway when I went, but it was still an experience and you can still take the mickey out of the Aussies even when they are winning large, just dont bother watching Channel 9 at all, as the Slater, Healey,Taylor,Warne commentary makes Look East look positively balanced towards Town in comparison.

but MCG sells out day 1, nearly always day 2, its only days 3,4 you might get a ticket for the test unless you pay for guaranteed seats with the Barmies. ODIs totally different, and somehow in a totally random 70,000 plus crowd as I was wearing my Town top, I ended up sitting behind a guy from Woodbridge :)

if I went again, Id always wanted to do the WACA, but clearly missed that now, but Adelaide is a lovely ground & place to visit, as was Sydney till they turned it into a semi replica of the Gabba.

Steve Smith is annoyingly very good. He's got this 'Steve Waugh in 89 not looking like dismissing him ' look about him.

This has been the worst hour for us so far.

Smith looks so so so calm out there.

Woakes and Ball are offering absolutely nothing. Same with alli

I must say, this post lunch session has been appalling from England and Root. Your best two bowlers and neither of them start off. Anderson took the field so must be fit to bowl as far as I'm concerned. Lead now only 50.

Andersons on now which makes it even weirder

I thought immediately it was a side strain but now I'm not so sure

Have a safe journey tomorrow Rommy.

Maybe they just wanted to see how Jimmy was with a bit of gentle running around before risking him bowling? Thinking of the long-term ie. But Broad?

Morning all.

Looks like I missed the best part of the day for England - I needed some sleep after two very busy working days on a combined 4 hours sleep over two nights!

Now the second new ball is ageing, this is looking tough. As Rommy said, Ball, Woakes and Moeen are not looking like wickets.

I love it when we have partnerships like this but hate it when it's against us!

Maybe Smith will let his guard down if he reaches the ton.

Morning Ryorry.

Well, there's the 100 and fair play to Smith. Some players really do get out just after getting there - I fear that Smith is not one of them! I'd back him to get 150 from here and put them in control.

That's a ton for Smith. Broad comes round the wicket and we finally see Smiths cover drive. It took 261 balls for him to play a shot on the off side but fair play - his irritating batting style gets the results.
