Exactly I was just thinking I would post a thread saying that at the end of the game and they broke and scored. 1-2 poor decisions cost us, not game management. Huws should have drawn the foul in the corner instead of turning. | |

When we had the free kick in the corner we had about 6 men upfield in the corner to try and keep it there. Better just to put those men in the box and try for a killer third. As you say, poor decision making. | | | |

The first goal was our own doing but if the second one was soft then you'd have to say our goals were soft too. Both errors at the back post, weren't they?
Personally I think the second Wednesday goal was like ours, a pretty decent goal. They still had everything to do even after our missed challenge in their own half. And the cross was a peach. | |

Sometimes players do lose the ball in the corner but the rest of the side should be set up to block off the counter. I said it before but how the heck does a side get caught on the counter when 2-1 up at home?! | |

i agree Wednesday were lucky to finish with 11 men, their chap Loovens should have gone in the 4th minute for kicking McG in the ballbag, but we shot ourselves in the foot by being overly conservative at the end. We were messing about in the corner far too early, our intent to score seemed to stop after we went 2-1 up, 5 min of injury time and we're trying to keep the ball in the corner spot, failing regularly so why not have a go instead. |  | | |

It was a stupid strategy.
Better off letting them have it and setting up properly to defend in banks like we had all match..
It's negativity of the highest order to do that with five minute left and that mindset comes from the top.

We've tried that before at the death and conceded - the response on here was 'why did we sit back, why did we let them have possession?'
The corner play was actually working fine; I remember thinking on more than one occassion how every team seems a threat when a goal behind against us but today they weren't - our game management was exemplary. And then, little mistake after little mistake. If just one player had done his job we wouldn't be talking about this right now, but they all failed and we're two points worse off. But the game strategy at the death was fine and so was the execution until... | |
