Along with Waghorn and Garner they could have split the MoM award 3 ways.

Connolly was devastated sat alone on the byline after that goal went in, I guess a more experienced player would have “done a skuse”and brought the man down on the halfway line

I think had what’s known as a “swing and a miss”.

First tie I seen Connolly and was very impressed with him. Can tackle, reads the game well and can put a decent pass in and looks good going forward too. Hopefully he can teach Skuse one or two of those traits, although I thought Skuse had a decent game too.

Such a shame when he was having such a good game. A great performance from him apart from that.

Some of the blame must go to the players who were trying to keep the ball at the corner for over 5 minutes. That really was madness.

No it wasn’t, it was common sense.

Us keeping the ball in the corner wasn’t the reason we conceded.

Why do you say that? We had stopped them scoring for 90 minutes apart from the penalty.

Surely trying to get another goal would have been better?

Does anybody really like that tactic?

Agreed, not keeping the ball in the corner was a significant reason we conceded!

I made the comment after about 20 minutes, that Cole Skuse isn't even the best at being Cole Skuse in this Ipswich team.

Thought Connolly (although not perfect) was exactly what we need in the middle of the park given the system we have been playing.

Along with the rest of the team, he could still show a little more patience when in possession and not always look to get rid of it, but he certainly looked decent last night.

The problem is that their is a school of thought that Ref's are under instruction to err on the side of the team trying to win the ball these days, if true perhaps that's why Mr. Stroud did not see fit to book Hunt for his 2 fouls in about 20 seconds. Unless of course he just did not want to send him off?
