Good luck to him - actually, on the face of it, a sensible appointment by Oldham/ Wellens.

Let’s hope we draw Oldham at home in the Cup so he gets to walk the Portman Road touchline one more time. What a moment that would be

Sadly not this season as they have already been knocked out of the Cup. I doubt he will still be there in 2019.

Presumably Wellens is going to ask him for advice and then do precisely the opposite.

Notice how he is the former Bradford and Wigan manager? No mention of his disastrous periods in charge at Sheffield Wed, Derby and us.

He says "I've been out the game for a long time now but I've not had my eyes closed," Jewell told the club's website."

Do you think he's referring back to before he joined us or after he left us?

He spelled "I don't have the capability to be the manager" wrongly.

Spot on mate. I remember Clegg saying that PJ went into the office after the Derby defeat and was devastated that he hadn't done what he wanted at Ipswich

Edit: It was Wellens who was highly critical of the attitude of the Town players when he was on loan. Clearly not a problem with him and PJ

Good position for him. Don’t blame Wellens bringing in experience.

But my opinion of PJ hasn’t changed - dreadful manager for us.

He was fortunate to have two chairmen at Bradford and Wigan who handed him large budgets. When he's had to actually 'manage' he's frequently pulled up short.

To be fair, the majority of managers don't do anything special if they don't get a large budget to play with.
