If you're looking for something a little more ambient you might like the 'Into The Wild' soundtrack, Eddie Vedder and Michael Brook.

The Harder They Come
There were subtitles for the Jamaican patois last time I saw it. Top film and Jimmy Cliff is brilliant in it. He should have been up there with Marley in my opinion. This is gorgeous,
If you like Roy Budd's cinematic stuff, he made a couple of albums with Brian Eno in the same vein which well worth a listen, The Pearl and Plateaux Of Mirrors Ambient 2

Berberian Sound Studio - by The Audience. Listened to the soundtrack on a pair of massive headphones whilst sat in a near abandoned office last Christmas. Scared the tits off me.

Facters, does The Last Waltz count as a film soundtrack? It became a film. I know you'll like this
Some of the best pieces didn't make it into the film. Tura lura lura with Richard Manuel and Van Morrison has some beautiful singing. I once played that to somebody who was a Counting Crows fan. They of course knew the song Richard Manuel Is Dead. After hearing Manuel's singing, they were almost in tears.
Shadows and Light with Joni Mitchell is brilliant too. Sublime organ work by Honeyboy Hudson.
(This is from black and white footage shot at the concert. The whole 4hr 20m show is on Youtube. The sound isn't great though. And much of the music in the film and on the album were re-recorded.)
It isn't really a soundtrack though, is it?
I saw the film about four times at the pictures. The first time was straight after the 1978 Charity Shield.
