Mario was better!
Mario transitioned into 3D better and the 2D games were still great, but Sonic tops all for me platform scroller wise.
My favourite MD games also included Cannon Fodder, Crackdown, Krusty’s Super Fun House and any of the Road Rash or Micro Machines games.
TWTD never forgets…
