although to be fair, this wasn't really trolling, was it? Not in its truest sense. More of an loosely-formed opinion thrown to the wind.

It's the Cruncher School of trolling, in which the 'troll' knows someone should look hysterical, angry and/or stupid but hasn't worked out it should be other people.

So 750k that he won't see is a pile of cash but 30 million* put in is a disgrace? *Gone for a conservative 30 million so you don't say I am exaggerating. Presumably the real number is over double that

Hilarious! How's your accountancy degree? Have you ever looked into the numbers on Companies House? I'm sure the figure at the bottom of the balance sheet may give you a lazy number to use but do you seriously, seriously think that Marcus Evans, on Britain's rich list, walks into a football club with no love of football to make such a huge loss for the love of the game on an annual basis? Haaaaaa! Do not be fooled, this man isn't making much of a loss if any at all. Either through tax reliefs, sponsorship or some other clever technique of pushing money between companies, he won't be losing cash, it completely contradicts being a high level businessman and still being at the top of his game after 10 years allegedly losing the sums you say. As an aside, i asked my accountant if she'd look into the his books. She will, in time...

If he isn't losing anything why doesn't he invest more money? If he can get it all back with 'clever accounting techniques' why isn't he taking a free shot at promotion and throwing millions at it? Did your accountant smile and nod politely before quickly leaving?

Investing money in a football club is a gamble, that's why, he's not a gambler - pretty obvious that. He's not losing money as Marcus Evans. He may be losing money as Marcus Evans at ITFC but not Marcus Evans Company Ltd. No, my accountant is employed by me.

You didn't answer the question. How is it a gamble if he doesn't lose money overall? If this accounting trick works why don't huge multinational companies buy Championship clubs as an investment? They could invest millions and millions without losing anything thanks to magic accounting and then potentially have a Premier League club to sell off for a profit or they could take a dividend from that massive Premier League tv money deal. It's a reasonable theory but clearly you're wrong.

I did, you just didn't see it. Quite simply because covering the gamble of the investment through tax reliefs isn't economically viable for him. there's a threshold, which he's not prepared to go over. Why don't huge multi-nationals buy clubs as investment? Again, quite simply because they're huge multi-nationals who have vast reserves of cash who don't operate in this field and probably don't see buying a football club a safe return on investment. Trying to make money from a football club is difficult. Using a football club for tax reliefs or as an advertising machine, isn't.
