Galton, Simpson and the Carry On gang said how much he would enjoy staring in Hancock's Half Hour but would write hateful things about them in his diary.

He really didn't like Sid James.

I can imagine that Williams and Sid James didn't get on - probably thought that James was a low-level oik and a coarse oaf.

I seem to remember reading KW wasn't an easy person to get on with, apparently very much like his on screen persona off screen too.
