With a new deal & being last minute his asking fee should have at least doubled in the final few hours of the window. Not that I believe it for a second mind.

At this stage it's a long shot still — but Nixon doesn't get a lot wrong so it's clearly possible.

Doesn't mean anything. If he wanted to go to Palace he would be new deal signed or not.

I understand that, but most assumed he had signed it and would move in the summer, not 2days later

Indeed. The contract deal was only announced after it seemed Palace's interest had seemingly cooled. The club even at this late stage wouldn't stand in his way if Palace or any other Prem club makes a firm offer.

We'd be after a bonkers fee at this late stage, deal signed or not signed. Like I said, Bart is obviously not smashing the door down to leave.

We asked £5m last summer. I’d assume it is the same now.

If Archer is correct, as it stands he hasn’t signed a new contract, so he still has just 18 months left, so no uplift at all.

I'd be very surprised if this is anything more than speculation, as a source at Town has just texted me to confirm as I type.

And if it wasn't would be amazed that Town would allow Bart to move on at this stage given his agreement to sign his new deal, the lateness in the day and lack of time to sign a replacement.

Bart doesn't seem to think we need a replacement.

Is Crowe fit now though?

Bialkowski: Crowe's Ready for First-Team Bow 26th Dec 2017 06:00
Blues first-choice keeper Bartosz Bialkowski believes Michael Crowe is ready to make his debut between the sticks for Town if required. Crowe, 22, has been on the bench for the last few games with Dean Gerken out of action due to a hip problem. 13

We'd need another keeper as Gerken's hip's still not 100 per cent. Crowe's fit.

Except the spelling of the player's name - unless Palace are in for another player from us other than Bart but with a very similar surname.

Not this late was he? Plus he was pushing to go - Bart doesn’t seem to be.

Saturday and the window closed on the Wednesday, off the top of my head. Even if there was anything in the report, which I'm led to believe there isn't (as things stand at least), I'd be surprised if Town would be interested in discussing the matter at this late stage.

It would make no sense whatsoever to sell him now. He'll be 31 in July so he'll have 4 decent years left in him if he went in the summer. We'd also get to keep him for the rest of the season and there's a real chance the new tv deals being auctioned this month will inflate the bubble further. If we were offered £5m today we could probably get £6m in the summer.

Can't see us selling. If we do I could see us signing an average free agent keeper and giving Gerken the shirt.

Truly impaired.

If they offered 4m last week and now they are clutching at straws / desperate for a GK and BB has signed a new deal, they would have to offer 8 - 10m to get a deal going at this stage.

For once the ball is firmly in our court.

Let’s be honest we should accept if they offer us £10m - but we have no time to spend it.
