He does sound inordinately disappointed when the opposition miss though. It can be most confusing if you only have the radio on in the background and don't have your full attention on it. Yesterday I was making love to my wife throughout the game, and I had to keep stopping to check who it was who had the opportunities.

All I can say is you should thank your lucky stars that you get commentaries on the games.
In years gone by, if you couldn’t go to games, you had to listen to Sports Report on the radio for the results of your team.
If you had a television you had Grandstand for the scores on a black and white telly. You could get score updates on Teletext but had to keep refreshing.
Or that’s what my granddad told me.
