Did you go, Benters?

Benters must be disappointed with the attendance at Derby last night. Less than 28,000 for the visit of Leeds.

So. Farewell then, Ipswich Town FC. The beginning of the end has begun.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

Not sure but somebody mentioned to me last night that fans of other clubs have done it. Watford being one.

Might well be possible then. But we know roughly what the numbers are anyway, the club said that around 2,000 season ticket holders generally don't attend run of the mill midweek games a while back and I was told by someone who would certainly know that the Burton home game last season was watched by 4,000 fewer than the official attendance.

There is bound to be a huge number of fans that retained season tickets thinking that they may see a season like Newcastle have had when they come down, by possibly bouncing back.

I'd imagine next year they'll be well below 20,000 even if they stay up. Perhaps even lower.

Yeah, but most of them leave after 75 minutes.

There was a hell of a lot of Sunderland supporters leaving well before 75 minutes, never seen that in those sort of numbers that early anywhere.

Take my word as this has come from an official source at the club who cannot be named.

I’m not sure what your conclusion is other than several thousand season ticket holders didn’t make the game on a cold and wet evening after we had a disapppinting result on Sunday. The club has still received the income from those people in advance. Are you saying it proves that 3-4,000 won’t renew ST for next season? Not sure it does. The club have been stagnant for years and ST levels have only dropped off a little. There is a hardcore group of fans who will turn up, certainly if the club finishes mid table.

But those figures would still only take us back to mid 90s level of support, when it was very cheap to buy a ticket and we were in the premier league.

Tuesday February 22nd 1994 v Shef utd at home 10,747 official attendance, it was absolutely freezing and only £8.50 a ticket (yes I kept it) in the North stand

And if you want to know where a lot of people have gone get a train back from London around 6pm on Saturday when West ham have played at home

Yes but in the mid 90's our ground capacity was 22,000, that crowd would have been 50% of capacity. We're looking now at about 33%.

Average championship attendances last season apparently went up 17% so we are looking at a marked decline.

Although of course the police would have to release the actual attendance if somebody were to make a freedom of information request.

Freedom of information doesn't cover football stadium attendance and the police don't own the information ITFC do.

If freedom of information can give you everything I've put in a request for you bank pin numbers
