Personally I can't see it. From a financial point of view the club would need to sell twice as many season tickets to maintain the same level of ST income which would be a huge gamble.
The obvious pros are greater attendances, better atmosphere (if playing well!) and more income from the shop, food outlets etc however more match day staff would be required alongside other raised costs.
That said the club would probably get more money out of fans like myself who can't attend every game as we'd be tempted into buying one at that price. | | | |

The question is, how much would it cost to subsidise season tickets to that degree? If one third were knocked off the cost of all tickets, it would "only" need an injection of around £1.7m to compensate. A resulting increase in sales (or, at least, no further drop) would effectively offset some of that. |  |

We had our peak average attendance since the 80s of 25600 in 04/05. Since then we’ve fallen to the current average this season of 16110. So in the last 5 years a fall of less than 2k but in the 7 prior we lost 7k. I’d say that was a pretty clear sign of an issue beyond the McCartney years wouldn’t you! | | | |
