Balls, the one slim chance we had walking away from that god awful ground and getting something.

Soon to be appointed the next ITFC manager...

Complete contrast from last year considering they got in the playoff final. Expect a familiar face to go in there, all aboard the managerial merry-go-round.

Pardew would be an interesting appointment for them should he get the sack soon.

Mick McCarthy & Reading football club, could there be a more tedious, boring combination in football?

It’s just meant to be.

Win win for all concerned.
Mick will still feel he's got another club in him I'm sure.
We can get new manager in for last couple of games.give him a head start on next season.
Evans won't need to pay mick off as he'd be getting another job.
Please pick up the phone reading !!!

I was hoping that he was still going to be there when we went there.
It has reduced their chances of getting relegated although us winning there and putting them down is still a possibility.

Hopefully not.

He's gonna do well with whatever club he ends up with next. I'd hate it to be them.

The only thing worse than Stam coming here for me would be the return of Keane.

With Stam we would need a new keeper for a start because Bart is not good enough with his feet to fit in to the CD/KEEPER/CD possession triangles.

I liked what he was trying to do with the passing at first, but it never really balanced in an attacking way and they played such dull football.

I haven't seen much of them this year, but it must be a lot worse!

Interesting! Not sure whether it would be a good thing or not, but a Dutch revolution can't be bad!

My first thought was that it would be a great fit for all parties.

Mick gets some job security, Reading get a manager that's got a track record of avoiding relegation from seemingly tricky situations and Ipswich get a clean break before season ticket renewals.

Can't see many other high profile managers stepping into a relegation battle at this point in the season.

Wouldn't surprise me if he's on their shortlist at all and I imagine they would want it resolved ASAP, if they haven't already got someone lined up.

Not sure where this McCarhty track record of avoiding relegation from tricky situations has come from. He has been parachuted into such a role once as far as I can tell - with Ipswich

I wonder whether Stam would be a good fit here. I'm sure fans would be against it largely due to his performance at Reading this season, but it would be a more logical move for us to go for Stam as it was for Swansea to go for Cavalhal and their form has been excellent since he took over. In the summer we'd have clamoured all over Stam. Perhaps he's a good manager suffering from a play off hangover which they've just not recovered from.

Poll: Would you be willing to consider a new club crest?
