The FLA have just appeared in my timeline 16:27 - Mar 21 with 38486 viewsBluefish

It seems an Ipswich fan has liked their post. I was hoping these ****s had embarrassed themselves suitably and now given up.

I view them the lowest possible, horrible nasty ****s that for some reason are trying to dress it up as good.

Utter scumbags

They are racists. The answer you have given is the same weasel words we heard from some on here as an excuse for anti semitism.

Why are they racist? What are "weasel words? What part of my post do you disagree with?
More explanation required.

They are members of secret Facebook groups full of racist hatred and bile. They attend gatherings with Tommy Robisonson who is a racist sh1t stirrer.

I know a fair few of the Ipswich lot who went on the march(es).

Most I'd class as 'good ol' boys' who genuinely believe that they are making a difference. Rightly or wrongly.

I also know 3 people with far right views who were also in attendance.

Fair comment. I`ve no doubt this group will attract the wrong sort. I think "racist" is a bit strong ( and technically incorrect ) for this organisation as a whole though.

I`m not sure you can brand people as racist because they are protesting against terrorism as such. I suppose the key question is : "would these same people be out demonstrating if the country was undergoing a wave of attacks against the Islamic community"? Not sure if race comes into it anyway. It`s more about religion.

I think part of the issue their name is wrong and a bit unclear.

Take for example groups such as PETA or Fathers for Justice. Very precise in what they want to achieve, and who is trying to achieve it.

Also "Football Lads", is a little bit ambiguous, does that mean players or supports.

But we do know they want the government to do more on terrorism.
Now the things the government use to fight terrorism are all government services that could do better if they had more money.

Some protest organisations actually do stuff to help their cause, rather than just protest.

Therefore maybe if they were called

Football Supporters for the Hypothecation and Increase of Taxes for Terrorism to Stop

And they proved their intent, by actions, not just words, by all members paying say an extra 5% in taxes to the government.

Then I think the lads of F S H I T T S, could be onto a winner.

Just need to think of a snappy way to pronounce the acronym.

I think some of them certainly are racist. And behind them there are a lot of misguided people who think they ARE under attack.

But they're not and neither is their culture. Finding a cause and railing against "other people" is what always happens when people start to feel marginalised by mainstream society and life itself. Ironically that's the same process that extremists on the other side go through too.

True enough. As I said, a group like this will tend to attract the wrong sort. But I think many who attended the march are perfectly decent ordinary people and it is wrong to brand them all in this way. Misinformed maybe, but debatable whether that`s their fault.

Making strategic alliances and jumping on the coat-tails of populist groups or sentiment is the key strategy of the Far Right, and has been since Hitler's time.

Once the group has outlived it's usefulness it is then ruthlessly disposed of.

Everybody of sound mind is opposed to terrorism. But that doesn't mean that everybody thinks that marching down a street with Tommy Robinson is a good idea. And it doesn't mean that the focus of the FLA isn't racist: they only seem to focus on certain types of terrorism.

Many of the members of the FLA are being played and are in danger of being socialised into Far Right groups and being radicalised. When it is young Muslim men being radicalised many FLA sympathisers would say "Why wasn't more done to stop this happening? Why didn't the community elders do something?" So when it is happening in my community (White British) I will speak up against, a d take the p!ss out of the Flower and Leaf Arrangers in the hope that ridiculing them will make them less attractive to people of my sons' generation.

Tommy Robinson is playing them. He is manipulating a discontentment, a niggle, in white working class English people. He is demonstrably a racist and wannabe leader of a Far Right movement. I believe the only way to stop fascism is to oppose it at every turn.

It's what Sir Winston Churchill would do.

Very well said.

It's the other side of the same radicalization coin. And as we know that means people who were never particularly extreme (fundamental religion or racism) being given a place and a purpose that was missing for them in ordinary life and then suddenly becoming highly motivated and dangerous.

And as you say, it's our duty to call it out for what it is before people get sucked in.

Why are you so worried about it?

Because I love football and think they are hijacking it for their disgusting agenda. They have no connection to football. They are deliberately blurring the lines by using our game to try and disguise what they are. A few football themed flower arrangements isn't fooling anyone with a brain.

Not hard to see why you're not bothered by it.

How is it not their responsibility to make sure they are informed? Who goes on a march for something they know nothing about?

The important question is "Which group do you put Tommy Robinson in?"

Sir Winston Churchill would have put him in with Mosley and the fascists.

There is a certain irony to this.

FLA members go on secret racist facebook group. Jezza goes on secret anti semitic facebook group.

FLA go on rally attended by Tommy Robinson. Jezza goes to a rally attended by Anjum Choudray.

Sprucey condemns the FLA. Sprucey conde.............. oh well maybe not.

edit. I see Jezza has just been outed as a member of a second antisemitic facebook page.
