Move away fans to North Stand end to improve atmosphere 18:31 - Mar 22 with 15429 views | WadeyBlue | This suggestion was asked the other night at the fans panel. Answer was the police either wont allow it or strongly advised against it. What is the fkn problem. Both sets of fans are apart and any problems keep away fans in after the game for 20 mins. OB crapping it again for no reason.

Actually the traditional "end" for home supporters at Leeds,Villa and Forest are not next to where the away fans are housed. There has been an element of home support at each of those grounds that have been relocated or relocated themselves near the away support but the traditional home end in each case is well away from the away supporters. Derby ground is probably not old enough to have a traditional home end. Scum IS near the away support.

I think it's more common than putting them next to the family stand!

You can have the Holte end at villa but I’m not having that Leeds and forest fans make more noise in the far end than the stand near the away fans

Forest’s noisy fans have traditionally been the Trent send when it was standing and the the block at the end of the stand to the left of the away end as you look at the pitch once the relocated, so not next to the away fans. Leeds’ noisiest fans are generally in the Kop at the other end of the ground. Villa’s noisiest fans are generally in the Holte End at the far end of the ground. Norwich's “snake pit” (ha) in the opposite corner fancy themselves as their top boys. At all those grounds, some fans have relocated to be near the away fans, but generally speaking, they are not traditionally the noisiest ones in that ground, although they may seem loud as they are right next to you.

Millwall is another ground where a group of home fans choose to position themselves closer to the away support. Our fans don't want to move themselves so they are within shouting distance of away support, they want to bleat about and expect the club to move away fans nearer to them. Why expect someone to do something about it when the obvious solution is their own hands.

Thats the basic problem here isnt it- other clubs fans have moved/positioned themselves near the away fans. The only reason town fans dont want to move nearer the away fans is tradition. But it would solve the issue very easily and doesnt need the club to get involved.

I am just telling you where the traditional home ends are. Forest is The Trent End. Leeds is whatever The Gelderd End is now called. To match what has happened at Forest and Leeds those that make a noise in our North Stand would need to move to Churchmans(SAR to you).

If we moved to the churchmans, the fans currently in there would get the right ump. How dare anyone sing away from the north stand

The point remains the same. The noisiest fans at all five grounds are now nearest the away fans. Even if that wasn’t ‘tradition’ back 50 years ago

Agree with you mate, sat in North stand for years and moved to Upper SAR so not sure why others stop going on about moving away fans and just move themselves. The atmosphere would be so much better if the Town fans just moved themselves .

No . At those grounds you mentioned a small group of wannabee hard boys have moved from the traditional home areas to be near the away support. Because they have been next to you has made you think that that is the real supporter's domain.

As I said earlier the Derby ground is probably not old enough to have a "traditional" home end. I don't know if they are next to the away support by design or if, as at Leeds and Forest, they moved themselves there.

Wasn't the traditional home end at Baseball Ground behind the goal. Would assume fans moved enbloc but have migrated to the current position closer to away fans. Can think of a few fans in Legends who wouldn't be happy.

Amazingly perhaps I never went to the Baseball Ground. It does seem that at most grounds the noisier home supporters move to be near the away supporters rather than what seems to be expected from some at PR. If there is mass moving of any sort done(in whichever direction) then some people are not going to be happy.
